Damietta University organizes “Ahlan Ramadan” Celebration and Exhibition in a Joyful Ramadan Atmosphere
Damietta University, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, organized on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the “Ahlan Ramadan” celebration and exhibition at the Faculty Members Club, in a joyful Ramadan atmosphere that reflected the spirit and noble values of the holy month.
The event was attended by Brigadier General Mohamed Mostafa Khalifa, Military Advisor to Damietta Governorate; the Vice Presidents of the University; Professor Ramadan Abdel Hamid El-Tantawy, Vice President of Damietta National University for Academic Affairs and former President of Damietta University; as well as deans and vice deans of the faculties of both Damietta University and Damietta National University, faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff, a large number of students, and members of the “For Egypt” student family.
The activities began with a musical celebration held in front of the Faculty Members Club, where the Damietta University Choir presented a selection of Ramadan songs under the supervision of Professor Hoda Abdel Nabi, Head of the Music Education Department at the Faculty of Specific Education, with the participation of faculty members from the department. The performances created an atmosphere of joy and engagement among attendees.
Following this, the University President inaugurated the “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibition, organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector with the participation of all university faculties and Damietta National University. The exhibition celebrated the approaching holy month of Ramadan and showcased students’ creativity across various fields.
The exhibition featured diverse sections displaying artworks, handicrafts, and food products created by students. The University President and the accompanying delegation toured the booths and listened to detailed explanations from students about their ideas and implementation methods, praising the high quality, creativity, and innovative spirit reflected in their work.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally extended his congratulations to the university community on the occasion of the approaching holy month of Ramadan. He thanked the organizers and all participating parties for their efforts in ensuring the event’s success, and commended the effective role of the “For Egypt” student family in organizing and participating in the celebration. He affirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting student activities that foster a sense of belonging and highlight young people’s creative talents.
He also expressed his appreciation to Professor Ayman El-Shehaby, former Governor of Damietta, in recognition of his continuous support for the university, and congratulated Professor Hossam Abu Seif on assuming his duties as Governor of Damietta, wishing him success in fulfilling his mission.
During the celebration, Fatma Abdel Ghani, a student from the Faculty of Commerce, recited a poem about the holy month of Ramadan, which received warm appreciation and interaction from the audience.
For his part, Brigadier General Mohamed Mostafa Khalifa expressed his pleasure at participating in the distinguished Ramadan atmosphere, thanking the University President for the kind invitation and praising the excellent organization and honorable presentation of the exhibition. He also congratulated the university community on the advent of the holy month.
Professor Ramadan El-Tantawy also delivered a speech expressing his appreciation to the University President, welcoming the Military Advisor to the Governorate, and commending the efforts of those responsible for organizing the exhibition.
In his remarks, Professor Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, thanked the University President for his continuous support of student activities and praised the efforts of the organizing committee, the departments of the Faculty of Specific Education, and the “For Egypt” student family, extending Ramadan greetings to all.
Professor El-Metwally Mostafa Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasized the university administration’s commitment to strengthening the spirit of one family and bringing together its members on various occasions.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Sherine Ghallab, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Education and Student Affairs, expressed her appreciation to the University President, his deputies, all participants in organizing the event, and the General Administration for Student Welfare headed by Mr. Mohamed Refaat, for their efforts in presenting a celebration worthy of the name of Damietta University.
