The university president receives the Deputy Governor of Damietta to discuss enhancing cooperation in community service and environmental development.
Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, received today, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Dr. Mohamed Fawzi, Deputy Governor of Damietta, at his office at the university’s general administration headquarters. This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation and communication between the university and Damietta Governorate to serve the local community and support development efforts in the governorate.
The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. El-Metwally Mostafa Selim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The visit took place as part of the Deputy Governor’s attendance at the meeting of the Community Service and Environmental Development Council at Damietta University, in his capacity as an external member. The council discussed a number of topics related to the university’s role in serving the community and developing the environment, as well as mechanisms to enhance the university’s participation in initiatives and activities that support development plans in the governorate.
During the meeting, the university president welcomed the Deputy Governor of Damietta, emphasizing Damietta University’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the executive authorities in the governorate, in a way that contributes to utilizing the university’s academic and scientific expertise to serve community issues and support sustainable development efforts.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Fawzi expressed his appreciation for the role played by Damietta University in serving the local community, stressing the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the university and the governorate to achieve more achivements that benefit the people of the governorate.
