             A surprise tour by the university president at the students’ dormitory to follow up on services and ensure their readiness during bad weather conditions.

In a surprise visit, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, inspected the students’ dormitory in New Damietta on Thursday, March 26, 2026, to check on students’ conditions and ensure the readiness of buildings and services, in light of the recent weather changes that led to the suspension of in-person classes on Wednesday and Thursday.

The visit took place in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Amasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. The tour included inspecting several residential buildings, reviewing the level of (equipment and facilities), as well as monitoring the condition of public utilities and ensuring the efficiency of maintenance and security measures داخل the dormitory.

The university president also checked on the regular provision of meals and the extent of adherence to quality standards. He stressed the importance of maintaining general cleanliness within the dormitory and providing a suitable living environment that helps students remain stable during their stay.

During the visit, the president met with a number of students, listened to their requests and suggestions, and directed that they be studied promptly and addressed as much as possible, reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting its students and providing all means of comfort.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally emphasized the need to raise the level of readiness within the dormitory and to deal immediately with any consequences resulting from bad weather conditions, while continuing daily follow-up to ensure students’ safety.

At the end of the tour, the university president stressed the importance of discipline within the dormitory and preserving public property, affirming the continuation of field visits to monitor the various sectors of the university.
