Launch of the First Damietta University Bazaar to Support Students’ Creativity

            Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, inaugurated today, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the activities of the university’s first bazaar. The event was organized by the Education and Student Affairs Sector under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Ammasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, with the participation of students from various faculties. This comes as part of the university’s commitment to supporting student activities and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students.

The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Ammasha, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Dr. Ghada El-Sayyad, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts; Professor Dr. Bassem El-Deek, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; along with a number of vice deans, faculty members, and students.

The University President toured the bazaar booths, where he listened to presentations from participating students about the nature of their work and products. These included a variety of handmade crafts, artistic works, accessories, heritage products, as well as innovative student projects that reflect their skills and creativity.

Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie El-Metwally emphasized that the university places great importance on supporting talented students and providing a motivating environment that helps them develop their skills and transform their ideas into real projects. He noted that such events contribute to preparing qualified graduates capable of competing in the labor market and promote a culture of entrepreneurship among youth.

He also praised the outstanding quality of the exhibited works and commended the efforts of the Education and Student Affairs Sector in organizing the bazaar, describing it as a successful model for integrating academic and practical aspects, while giving students the opportunity to showcase their products and interact directly with the public.

For his part, Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdo Ammasha explained that organizing this bazaar is part of the sector’s plan to activate purposeful student activities and develop students’ innovation and production skills. He affirmed that the bazaar serves as an important platform for marketing students’ products and boosting their self-confidence.

This bazaar is organized within the framework of Damietta University’s strategy to support student creativity and link academic study with practical application, contributing to the preparation of young cadres capable of innovation and active participation in achieving sustainable development.
