Today, February 26, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, witnessed the twelfth educational symposium for schools, which was organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces in cooperation with Damietta Governorate and held at the New Damietta Culture Palace, in the presence of Professor Dr. Manal Awad, Governor of Damietta, and Major General A.H. Walid Hamed Al-Hamaki, Commander of the Forces. The symposium included many activities, beginning with a religious invocation, then an artistic performance by the Roya Band at the Misr Public Library in Damietta, entitled “The Song of Isis,” followed by a patriotic poem. The symposium then witnessed a lecture on the role of the individual in reducing the risks and challenges of technological development by Professor Dr. Ghada Amer, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Misr University of Science and Technology and Vice President of the Arab Foundation for Science and Technology, in which she spoke about the dangers of technology to the individual and society and explained the difference between smart systems and artificial intelligence and the dangers of the digital age and addiction.
