The University President inaugurates the College of Science's annual environmental week

               Today, March 6, 2024, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, opened the activities of the College of Science’s annual Environmental Week, which is held within the plan of activities of the community service and environmental development sector, which will continue during the period from March 6 to 10, 2024, and includes several topics on water, climate change, biodiversity, green products, and alternative energy. This came in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamad Abu Dobara, Dean of the College, and Professor Dr. Omnia Al-Batrawy, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, a number of department heads, faculty members at the College, and representatives of the Japanese School in New Damietta. During the start of the forum activities, a presentation was made of production and artistic works and research projects concerned with issues of the environment, sustainable development, water and green spaces. Students from the Japanese School in New Damietta also gave presentations on their scientific projects under the supervision of faculty members at the college, within the framework of the university’s role in raising environmental awareness for school students. The university president inspected the “Able to Differ” pavilion to display environmentally friendly products from people of determination and special abilities, in addition to research projects for university employees, by presenting models, pictures, and environmental paintings that simulate reality. On the sidelines of the forum, an introductory symposium was inaugurated, organized by the Students for Egypt family, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nasser Abdo Al-Ghamaz, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Education and Student Affairs, entitled “I Will Not Leave Until I Report,” in which researcher Yasmine Yahya Mostafa, a researcher in science and technology and the first Egyptian to be honored by NASA, lectured. Her name is written on an asteroid.
