Today, Sunday, October 8, 2023, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, received in his office Dr. Zahi Hawass, former Minister of Antiquities. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Zahi Hawass, the former Minister of Antiquities, congratulated Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree. After that, His Excellency went to the Farouk Shousha Hall on the university campus to hold a meeting with the university’s male and female students, in the presence of Professor Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybani, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, the deans of the colleges, the deans and the faculty members of the university’s colleges, especially the College of Archeology. During the University President’s speech, he stressed that Dr. Zahi Hawass is of great value at the local and international levels, and expressed how happy he was with his presence today at Damietta University to congratulate him on his appointment as President of Damietta University, and the students of the university’s faculties, especially the Faculty of Archeology, were keen to attend and welcome his happiness and benefit from his knowledge and experience. After that, Dr. Zahi Hawass gave an interesting and enjoyable presentation about his life story. He also expressed how happy he was to be in this great scientific edifice at Damietta University and promised the students of the Faculty of Archeology another visit during the first semester of this year.
