Under the slogan of the Damietta University initiative, “We Will Participate,” Damietta University marches were launched today, Monday, December 11, 2023, on the second day of the presidential elections, to tour throughout Damietta Governorate, led by Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, and accompanied by Professor Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybany, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, deans, and vice deans. Department heads, administrative leaders, and university students to urge the masses to go to the ballot boxes. This comes out of the university’s constant keenness to carry out its awareness role for students and citizens about the necessity of activating their constitutional rights by actively participating in the presidential elections to send an honorable message to the international world about activating the frameworks of free democracy in the Egyptian state. The march began after crowds of university employees and students arrived from inside the university campus, heading to the city of Damietta, for participants to cast their votes and urge citizens to participate positively, which is considered a path towards renaissance, an obligatory matter, a moral commitment to the nation, and a true indicator of the level of political awareness within the framework of free and fair elections to establish the true democratic system in the country. In light of a distinguished judicial system that supervises the conduct of the electoral process to ensure credibility and integrity.
