Today, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, witnessed the university’s five-a-side football championship competitions, which were held within the activities of the refresher course for university students. He watched part of a match between the faculties of commerce and nursing, which was held on the five-a-side field on the university campus. The match was attended by Professor Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybani, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and a number of deans, deputies, and the General Director of Student Welfare. The university president also participated with the students in the activity and expressed his happiness at being among the university’s male and female students . He also praised the outstanding performance and sportsmanship between the two teams, stressing that the goal of these activities is to build the students’ personalities, enhance their concepts of belonging and teamwork, and make optimal use of their energy and skills  and discovering talented people who are able to represent the university in competitive frameworks, which achieves the progress and development of society, and the development of young people culturally, socially and scientifically. It is worth noting that the General Administration of Student Welfare organizes a refresher course for university students in multiple fields, namely sports activity, artistic activity, cultural activity, social activity, scientific activity, mobile activity, and public service.
