Today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, participated in the opening match of the Sports Day, which was held on the five-a-side court on the university campus, as part of the activities of the Environmental Week of the Faculty of Physical Education, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Matbouly, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Deans of colleges, faculty members, the college’s supporting staff, and the Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare, male and female students. The President of the University delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he welcomed the attending deans, faculty members, and administrators. His Excellency also greeted his sons and daughters, students, stressing the importance of participating in various student activities. He also offered congratulations to the students on the occasion of the anniversary of the glorious October victories. The University President also praised the activities of the Sports Day of the Faculty of Physical Education, stressing that it reflects Damietta University’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and encouraging educational environment for students, and enhancing the sports, social, and cultural spirit among the university’s students. His Excellency was keen to participate in the opening match, which included the university president’s team and the team of the dean of the College of Physical Education, with the participation of a number of deans, faculty members and administrators. The match witnessed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship between the two teams, which ended in a 3-3 draw in the two original rounds, and then the university president’s team won. By penalty shootout.
