In continuation of the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the leadership of the Second Field Army and Damietta University, and within the framework of the Armed Forces’ celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the victories of the Glorious October War. Today, Thursday, October 5, 2023, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the sports tournament in the games (football - volleyball - padel, tennis - squash), which was held from September 16 to October 5, 2023 at the sports center under the leadership of the Second Field Army. In the presence and honor of Major General Mohamad Abd Al Rahman Rabie, Commander of the Second Field Army, and the presidents of the participating universities. On the sidelines of the meeting, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, congratulated Major General Mohamad Abd Al Rahman Rabie, Commander of the Second Army, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the victories of the glorious October War. Then they discussed several topics, the most important of which are ways to support and develop the prospects for joint cooperation between the University and the Second Field Army in many fields. Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of the University, also extended his sincere congratulations on behalf of himself and all the university’s employees to President Abd Al Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on the occasion of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the victories of the glorious October War. It is worth noting that Damietta University participated with a delegation of university students in competitions (football - volleyball - padel tennis)

The university's volleyball team ranked third at the university level, and student Mohamad Mohsen Zahran won the best goalkeeper award in the tournament. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University, extends his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Wael Farouk Al-Taybani, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Mr. Mohamad Refaat, General Director of Student Welfare, and the supervisors of the activity for effective participation and raising the university’s name high among universities.
