The University President witnesses the symposium activities of the “Women Lead” program

                       Today, Monday, October 9, 2023, Professor Dr. Hamdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, witnessed the activities of the introductory symposium on the “Women Leading in the Egyptian Governorates” program, which was launched by the National Training Academy (NTA), in partnership with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in the presence of Dr. Manal Awad, Governor of Damietta, and Major General Staff Ayman. Al-Atfihi, advisor to the Executive Director of the Academy for Community and Business Development, Major General Mohammad Hammam, Secretary-General of the Governorate, and a large number of women working in various institutions. The symposium reviewed the objectives of the program to qualify women in the Egyptian governorates, with the aim of empowering them socially, economically and politically to participate in construction, and advance the wheel of development and positive participation in their communities. It provides various training packages of administrative and personal skills to develop their abilities in leadership, project management and entrepreneurship, in addition to identifying the most important aspects. Information technology developments and digital transformation ,It also presents several awareness topics about the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030, and also reviews the role played by the National Training Academy since its establishment by the decision of the President of the Republic in 2018. The program targets Egyptian women with a university qualification between the ages of 22 and 50 years old, from the government and private sectors and entrepreneurs, and includes training packages for a period of 23 days within the governorate. While the “Governor” praised the program’s goals aimed at refining women’s capabilities and skills and preparing cadres capable of assuming leadership positions, which comes in line with the Egyptian state’s strategy under the leadership of His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to empower women, which became clear with the Egyptian women’s appointment. During recent years, he has held ministerial portfolios, the position of governor, and leadership positions in various state institutions, in line with the goals of sustainable development. While the President of Damietta University greeted Dr. Manal Awad and the National Training Academy, he also stressed during the speech he delivered at the symposium that Egyptian women have achieved great successes and contributions since the ancient history of Egypt, and are still making other successes at all levels to participate in completing the construction process that the republic is witnessing. Dr. Hemdan Rabie confirmed that the university is fully prepared to host a number of courses that come within the framework of the program and provide the necessary support for implementation.
