Today, Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie Al-Metwally, President of Damietta University, opened the first annual scientific conference of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods under the title “Curricula and Educational Programs in the Digital Age, Reality, Challenges, and Visions of Development,” which is held at the College of Education. His Excellency was welcomed by Professor Dr. Amany Mohamed Awad, Dean of the College of Education, deputies and faculty members at the College. His Excellency met with an elite group of college scholars and expressed his great happiness at this meeting. He, accompanied by the faculty members of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods at the college, went to survey the college to begin the conference activities, in the presence of Professor Dr. Amany Mohamad Awad, Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Gaber Hassan Ahmed, Head of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods and President of the Conference, and Professor Dr. Ramadan Abd Al Hamid Al-Tantawy, Professor of Curriculum. And the full-time science teaching methods and former president of Damietta University, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Hassan Al-Morsi, the full-time professor of curricula and teaching methods in the Arabic language and a member of the Arabic Language Academy, and a group of gentlemen faculty members in the department, and Professor Dr. Mervat Hamid Hani, the college’s dean for graduate studies and research. The conference activities began with the national anthem, then verses from the Holy Qur’an were recited, followed by a speech by the honorable platform members, in which they welcomed Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie and expressed their happiness at attending the opening of the conference. This was followed by address by the President of the University, in which he expressed his great happiness at being among a group of scholars in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods at the College of Education. He also thanked Professor Dr. Ramadan Al-Tantawi, the former President of the University, for what he provided to the University during his tenure. He also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Al-Sayed Mohamad. Dadour, the former university president, for his efforts in serving the university over the past years and for the university’s arrival in an honorable manner. The President of the University expressed his happiness at organizing this conference, as this conference is attended by a group of scholars for whom he has all the appreciation and respect, stressing that such conferences push everyone to work forcefully on the ground. He also stressed the importance of scientific research and holding scientific conferences, to which the university attaches great importance. Scientific research is one of the most important factors for Damietta University to maintain its recently achieved records. At the conclusion of the activities, the conference shield was presented to Professor Dr. Hemdan Rabie, President of the University. The conference shield was also presented to Professor Dr. Sayed Mohamad Dadour, the former President of the University, and it was received on his behalf by the University President.
